Community Holiday Assistance & Disaster Relief program providing Christmas support to Sandy Creek families still recovering from the historic Texas floods of July 4th.

Community Holiday Assistance & Disaster Recovery

The Christmas season arrived only months after the historic Texas floods of July 4th, leaving many Sandy Creek families still navigating the long road to recovery. These are families GTC United has consistently assisted since July 5th, through immediate response, cleanup efforts, and ongoing recovery support.

As the months progressed, many emergency and short-term resources were exhausted, leaving households with limited assistance available as the holidays approached. For families still rebuilding homes, replacing essentials, and stabilizing financially, the ability to provide a meaningful Christmas for their children became increasingly out of reach.

About Operation Rise Again 2025

Operation Rise Again 2025 was implemented under GTC United's Community Holiday Assistance – Disaster Relief program to meet families at this critical point in recovery. By providing Christmas assistance to children and families impacted by the Texas floods, this initiative helped restore a sense of normalcy, dignity, and hope during a season that can feel especially heavy after disaster.

Program Focus Areas

  • Christmas Assistance: Providing gifts and holiday support to children in flood-affected families
  • Disaster Recovery Continuation: Sustained support for families still rebuilding after the July 4th floods
  • Community Engagement: Ensuring Sandy Creek families know they are not forgotten
  • Restoring Normalcy: Helping families experience a meaningful holiday season despite ongoing recovery

Impact & Significance

This initiative had a deep and meaningful impact, serving as both practical support and a powerful reminder that these families were not forgotten once immediate relief efforts ended. Operation Rise Again reflects GTC United's commitment to long-term recovery — walking alongside families well beyond the initial crisis and continuing support when it matters most.

For families whose recovery resources had largely been depleted, this holiday support represented renewed hope and sustainable relief at a critical moment.

Long-Term Recovery Commitment

GTC United has been present in Sandy Creek since the day after the floods hit on July 5th. From immediate disaster response and cleanup to ongoing recovery support, the organization has maintained a consistent presence throughout every phase of recovery. Operation Rise Again 2025 is a continuation of that commitment — ensuring that families receive support not just in the immediate aftermath, but through the long and often overlooked stages of rebuilding.

Why This Matters

Disaster recovery is not a short-term process. Long after the floodwaters recede and the news cameras leave, families continue to face daily challenges — rebuilding homes, replacing belongings, and finding stability. The holiday season can amplify these struggles. Operation Rise Again ensures that these families receive support when it matters most, restoring dignity and hope during a critical moment in their recovery journey.
